Your Life Pathway

Personality Research: The Five Pathways

The five pathways that have emerged from my research on personality have captured the variety of ways that we navigate the many challenges and complexities of adulthood. Which pathway are you on? This online test will help you to diagnose your pathway. Find out if you are traveling:

The Meandering Way:

You are unable to settle on a clear set of goals and a way to achieve those goals

The Straight and Narrow Path:

Your life is characterized by predictability; you shy away from risk and don't enjoy changing your routines.

The Downward Slope:

You had everything going for you when you were young, however things started to go wrong and now you regret your choices.

The Triumphant Trail:

Your inner resilience has allowed you to overcome significant challenges that could have led you to despair.

The Authentic Road:

You have continuously examined your life's direction and forced yourself to take an honest look at whether it is truly satisfying.

About the Online Test

The online version of the Pathways Test is an expanded version of the test in my book, The Search For Fulfillment. Additionally, the online version is being used for research purposes. After completing the online test, you will receive more information about the purpose of the study. You will also receive online feedback regarding the Five Pathways. Finally, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that by answering a few online questions you are helping to further research and benefit future generations!

Since the online Pathways Test is being used for research purposes in conjunction with the University of Massachusetts— Amherst, if you would like to take the online test, then you need to read a consent form. All of your answers are completely anonymous, and NO personally identifiable information will be collected. If you agree to participate in the study, you will be directed to the test. If you would prefer to take a short sample test which is not being used for research purposes, then click here.
